Identification: rows of barbules under chin and a lappet above each eye. Breeding: unknown Habitat: deeper water from 10 to 50m, they live under rock and in caves only coming out to hunt night Food: they are predators living on crustaceans, mollusks and smaller fish. Range: Mediterranean, Adriatic and southern European coasts Additional Notes: this fish was about 25-30cms long when photographed in2004 at the excellent Barcelona Aquarium.
